As the Sales Operations Lead at Timescale, you will play a crucial role in driving the analysis, processes, technology, and systems for the Sales and CS team. As a member of the Finance organization at Timescale, you are obsessed with the numbers, the data, the analysis, and the “why” behind it all. You are happiest when you deeply understand a business and all the nuts and bolts of how things technically work and want to use your insights to drive strategic decision-making.
What you will be responsible for in this role:
Sales Data Analysis and Forecasting:
Collect, analyze, and interpret sales data to provide actionable insights.
Own the sales forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
Drive forecast calls and manage the data to support sales strategy and decision-making.
Sales Performance and Commissions:
Monitor and report on sales performance against targets and quotas.
Ensure accurate calculation and distribution of sales commissions.
Identify and address issues impacting sales performance and compensation.
Territory Planning:
Develop and implement strategic territory planning to optimize sales coverage, drive market penetration, and achieve revenue targets
Sales Process Management:
Develop, implement, automate and manage efficient sales processes and procedures.
Continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness of sales operations.
Presentation Design and Data Communication:
Design and create PowerPoint presentations to effectively convey data and insights to diverse audiences that others can independently interpret
CRM Management (Salesforce):
Oversee the administration and maintenance of the Salesforce CRM system.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity within Salesforce.
Train sales team members on Salesforce best practices and utilization.
Dashboard and Reporting:
Create, maintain, and own sales dashboards to monitor key performance indicators.
Generate regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and trends.
Present sales data and insights to stakeholders using Salesforce-driven presentations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
Collaborate with the sales leadership team to develop and execute sales strategies.
You could be a great fit if:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales operations or a similar role.
Expert in Salesforce CRM, Outreach, Excel, Google Suite, and other data analysis tools.
Built, managed, and optimized territory planning, including creating data-driven territory assignments that align with business goals and maximize sales potential.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage complex sales data.
Proven track record in designing and implementing Sales Ops technologies and processes that align with internal business needs.
Demonstrated expertise in sales cadence, forecasting, funnel maintenance, and reporting.
Proven ability to drive process improvements and boost sales productivity.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Proficiency in SQL or willingness to learn.
Passionate about data, analysis, and extracting actionable insights.

You have limited experience with Salesforce CRM, Outreach, or other critical sales tools required for the role.
You don’t have a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, analysis, and process improvements.
You struggle with managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment or have difficulty meeting deadlines.
You’re not comfortable collaborating cross-functionally or communicating effectively with various teams across the company.
